Comedian Justin Lee Collins is to train as a professional wrestler for his latest reality TV Show.
The Sunday Night Project presenter will star in a new series called Justin Collins is… in which he attempts to master various professions including West End singer and pro-wrestler. The series will be broadcast next year on Sky1 and Sky1HD.
During three 60 minute episodes of the show, Collins will take singing and dancing lessons in preparation for a role in a West End musical before a paying audience, train as a pro-wrestler under the stage name ‘Nacho Lee-Bre Collins’, and learn competitive ballroom dancing.
“I really can’t wait,” said Collins. “I’m going to become a Mexican wrestler, a ballroom dancer and hopefully get myself into a West End show. It’ll be really hard work, but I can’t wait to get started. Bring it on.”
Earlier this year Sky1 hosted a show entitled Justin Lee Collins: 180 which followed Collins’ quest to become a professional darts player. Nicknamed The Bristol Flyer, Collins practised with British darts champion Keith Deller and played in the BDO International Open.
Sky1’s factual commissioning editor Andrew O’Connell said that the channel was “thrilled” to have the comedian presenting a new show. “He brings boundless enthusiasm to everything he does and we know he’ll do his utmost to rise to these challenges,” he said.
