The filming of a new sitcom starring comedy duo Mitchell and Webb has begun.
The new series, Back, stars both David Mitchell and Robert Webb and is being written by British comedy staple Simon Blackwell.
Blackwell worked on the pair’s previous series Peep Show as well as political comedies The Thick of It and Veep.
Peep Show ended in 2015 after running for 9 series since 2003.
David Mitchell confirmed the filming of a new series via Twitter, claiming that the show would make its way to Channel 4 later this year.
Back follows Stephen (David Mitchell) as he takes over the family pub after the death of his father, with Webb starring as the family’s former foster son Andrew.
The show is being produced by Big Talk Productions, which has been responsible for a number of well-loved British comedy shows such as Black Books and Spaced as well as films like Hot Fuzz, Sightseers and Attack the Block.
CEO of the company, Kenton Allen, said that they were thrilled to be working with the pair once again.
"It's a rare privilege to be working with such exceptional comic minds.”
Back will run for 6 episodes initially, with it debuting on Channel 4 at some point in 2017.
You can watch all of Peep Show on Netflix right now.
