A prequel series to action show 24 is reportedly in the works.
Series home Fox is apparently developing the series which will feature a young Jack Bauer, who was famously played by Kiefer Sutherland.
The creators of 24, Joel Surnow and Bob Cochran, are working on the series alongside executive producer Howard Gordon.
The original series of 24 ended in 2010 and the franchise has since then returned for two spin-offs, 24: Live Another Day and 24: Legacy (which did not star Sutherland for the first time).
Now it appears that Fox is set to bring the property back, though the project is still very much in early development.
The recent Disney/Fox merger might be one of the reasons for the renewed interest in 24, with Disney now technically owning the rights to the franchise.
Kiefer Sutherland is currently starring in Netflix original series Designated Survivor, which is likely to get a third season.
The actor acted as executive producer of 24: Legacy despite not starring, so it’s likely he’ll be involved in some form when Fox eventually kicks the project into gear.
