Amazon Original Series | Our Top Picks for March 2018

The best of what's on Amazon Prime Video this month.

Amazon Instant Video is Amazon’s video streaming service, allowing users to watch films and TV for a contract-free monthly fee. Since its inception, Amazon has offered a range of titles to choose from, such as US shows you might not find elsewhere alongside exclusive film content. Much like Netflix, Amazon also hosts a number of Original series, which it has produced to be available exclusively on the platform. Amazon also features exclusive series that don’t air anywhere else in the UK. Here’s the best of what Amazon has to offer this month.

Sneaky Pete Season 2 (Now)

This drama starring Giovanni Ribisi has been one of the best Amazon Original Series and is finally back for a second season. Season 2 sees career criminal Marius dragged back into the role of Pete – the identity he took when he was released from prison – when a gang threatens his adopted family.

Sneaky Pete follows a similar plot to cult favourite Banshee and smash-hit series Breaking Bad and will please fans of either. The added star power makes Sneaky Pete a must-see for any Amazon Prime subscriber, with the show being part of a big 2018 for the platform.

Lucifer Season 3 (Now)

The supernatural crime-drama Lucifer hits its explosive 3rd season, the story of the fallen angel continues to be full of twists and turns. Lucifer follows the devil (yes, that one) as he roams Earth in human form, helping to solve crimes with his supernatural powers.

Season 3 follows on from the exciting season 2 finale, with Lucifer trying to find out who kidnapped him whilst dealing with his wings growing back. The series is exclusive to Amazon Prime, meaning you can catch all 3 seasons on-demand.

The Looming Tower (Now)

This new political drama is another excellent Amazon Exclusive and stars Jeff Daniels and Tahar Rahim. The Looming Tower traces the rising threat of Osama Bin Laden in the late ‘90s and suggests that the rivalry between the FBI and the CIA may have caused them to overlook events that lead up to 9/11.

The series is a good example of Amazon Prime’s ongoing TV shows, with episodes shown just days after they’re broadcast in the US. If political intrigue is your thing and you don’t mind the sensitive real-world subject matter, The Looming Tower comes well recommended.

Scrubs Season 1-9 (Now)

For a light-hearted blast from the past this month, the full 9 seasons of Scrubs could be just what the doctor ordered. This hilarious and heartwarming sitcom from the early 2000s was beloved by both US and UK audiences thanks to its huge amount of airtime on E4. Now, you can relive all 9 seasons of medical-based hijinks (though maybe skip season 9).

Scrubs was created by one of the minds behind Friends and it really shows, with the series being packed full of both laughs and genuinely great characters and relationships. Watching it now is like a cosy mug of cocoa by the fire, and it’s easy to find yourself binging 5 or 6 episodes at a time.
