The superhero spoof is coming this August.

Peter Serafinowicz as The Tick

Upcoming Amazon Prime Original series The Tick has been given a release date alongside a new teaser.

The superhero spoof series, starring Peter Serafinowicz, will air on the 25th of August on Amazon Prime Video.

The series was greenlit after a pilot was made and Amazon Prime users voted to make it a full series along with a number of other shows.

The release date was announced in a new teaser, with a full trailer presumably on its way.

The Tick is the latest adaptation of the satirical comic book series, which parodies superheroes with absurd catchphrases and storylines.

This is the third time The Tick has hit TV screens, with an animated series running on FOX in the 90s and a short-lived live-action series, starring Patrick Warburton, previously airing.

Peter Serafinowicz will this time play the bumbling superhero, with Wally Pfister (who worked on the Dark Knight film trilogy) directing the episodes.

Comic creator Ben Edlund has also worked on the new series, with previous Tick star Patrick Warburton executive producing.

Amazon Prime subscribers can watch the pilot episode of The Tick right now, with the full series available to stream on August 25th.
