The release date for Black Mirror season 5 has been announced.
The sci-fi anthology series will return to Netflix at the end of December, specifically on the 28th.
Whilst there hasn’t been an official announcement yet, a leak showed the release date alongside what is seemingly the title of the first episode - Bandersnatch.
The leak came in the form of a tweet from an official Netflix account, suggesting that it’s quite likely to be true.
The new season of Black Mirror has had a number of rumours surrounding it, including talk of an interactive episode in the works and the possibility of returning to the world of White Bear and San Junipero.
Whilst creator of the show Charlie Brooker has dismissed claims about the latter, the former is increasingly likely thanks to Netflix’s push for more interactive content.
If released on December 28th, the season will air almost exactly a year after the previous season, which was uploaded to the streaming service with little fanfare late last year.
Black Mirror is an anthology series that tells horror-tinged sci-fi stories about the dangers of technology.
The series started life on Channel 4 before being picked up by Netflix, which provided an increased budget.
