Season 2 of historical drama Britannia has been confirmed by Sky.
The series will return to Sky Atlantic and Sky Box Sets despite mixed reviews and the series only 86,000 when broadcast live.
Despite it lows figures when watched live, the series was watched by over 1.9 million on-demand, where it was available in full from the start.
This would explain its low live figures, with many Sky customers simply watching it when they want like the vast majority of modern TV.
Britannia also drew more viewers can Sky Atlantic’s other Original shows Tin Star and Riviera.
The season 1 finale aired on Sky Atlantic last week, with fans now getting their wish for a 2nd, which is set to begin filming within the next few months.
This means that the series should return this year, which will please Game of Thrones fans who will be deprived of sword and horse action until 2019.
Britannia is set in Britain 2000 years ago, with the country under Roman rule despite constant pushback from the natives.
The series stars David Morrissey (The Walking Dead), Kelly Reilly (True Detective) and Mackenzie Crook (Pirates of the Caribbean).
