For a long time, the only way you could enjoy Sky Atlantic was with a Sky subscription but there's now a nicely inexpensive alternative available, read on to find out more.
Can I watch Sky Atlantic on Virgin Media?
At the moment the answer to this question is a resounding “no”. Sky Atlantic is exclusively available to Sky TV customers. However at some point in the future, if Sky and Virgin can come to some kind of agreement, you might be able to get Sky Atlantic with Virgin bundles.
However there are some workarounds that will ensure you’ll be able to see Game of Thrones season 8 when it starts in the spring.
Can I watch Sky Atlantic on BT TV, TalkTalk TV and Freesat?
Again we’re afraid that the answer is a big fat “no”. There’s no way of accessing any Sky content on Freesat and although you can pay extra to add a selection of Sky channels onto your BT or TalkTalk package, Sky Atlantic unfortunately isn’t included on that list.
But, as with Virgin Media, there is a way to watch Sky Atlantic that doesn't involve switching over to Sky.
Ways to watch Sky Atlantic if you do not have Sky
One way Virgin Media, BT TV, Freeview and TalkTalk TV customers can enjoy Sky Atlantic is through Sky’s own NOW TV service.
NOW TV works via four different passes which you’ll need to individually purchase to access the corresponding content. The Entertainment pass, priced at £7.99 a month, will give you access to both the live Sky Atlantic channel and a large library of on-demand content where you’ll find past seasons of many of its most popular shows like Big Little Lies and Westworld.
There’s no contracts involved with NOW TV which gives you the freedom to renew or a cancel a pass at anytime. If you wanted to watch the current series of True Detective for example, you can just buy the Entertainment pass for two months and then cancel.
You can watch NOW TV in one of three ways, via the free app you can download on a huge range of different devices, the NOW TV smart box or the budget-friendly NOW TV streaming stick which has a smaller selection of third party apps available.
