Larry will be back in time for Halloween.

The 9th season of US sitcom Curb your Enthusiasm has been confirmed to premiere on October 1st.

The announcement came in the form of a teaser, which saw misanthrope Larry David dressed as Julius Caesar riffing off his famous line saying “He left, he did nothing, he returned.”

Curb your Enthusiasm was one of HBO’s first stand-out shows, debuting in 2000 to high critical acclaim and going on to span 8 seasons over 11 years.

The show follows Seinfeld creator Larry David (playing himself) as he attempts to navigate the social rules and regulations of life in Beverly Hills.

Curb your Enthusiasm broke new ground by having largely improvised dialogue, with the show often following the Seinfeld mould by having big problems escalate from small social faux pas.

When the 8th season aired in 2011, many fans assumed that it would be the end of the show, with the season ending with the classic ‘Larry vs Michael J. Fox’ episode.

Now, the show is due to return after 6 years off the air, with series regulars Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman and JB Smoove all returning alongside the eternally grumpy Larry.

Each season so far has had a thread running through it, with Larry opening a restaurant, staging a Seinfeld reunion and starring in a Broadway musical, with season 9 expected to follow suit.

Whilst a UK release date has not yet been confirmed, it’s fair to assume it will air on Sky Atlantic and the NOW TV Entertainment Pass soon after the US.

You can watch all 8 seasons of Curb your Enthusiasm via Sky Box Sets and NOW TV right now.
