The first trailer for the upcoming film version of Downton Abbey has been released.
The TV show ran for five series, including Christmas specials, with fans assuming that there would be no return.
Now, the film release will continue the story of the English manor house and its residents, with the teaser trailer showing a man on a motorcycle heading to the house.
Downton Abbey follows the lives of the Grantham family, a group of aristocrats in early 20th century Yorkshire.
According to sources, the Downton Abbey movie will see the majority of the original cast return, including Hugh Bonneville, Maggie Smith and Michelle Dockery.
Creator of the series, Julian Fellowes, has written the script for the movie, with the director of the first episode of the TV series Brian Percival taking directing duties.
Downton Abbey was one of the biggest shows ever featured on ITV, winning 15 Emmys and 3 Golden Globes during its 5-series tenure.
The series is particularly popular in the US market, with the romanticised version of the British gentry proving to be a big hit for American audiences.
