The last episode of the upcoming season of Game of Thrones will be feature-length, HBO has announced.
The US cable network revealed the running time for the season finale when it uploaded pages on its website devoted to each episode.
The final episode was revealed to run for 81 minutes, putting it near the length of a feature-length film.
This season of the fantasy series will only feature 7 episodes rather than the standard 10, as the show heads into its final stages.
Fans were worried that this would mean less time with the smash-hit series, but the creators of the show have confirmed that the decision was made in order to use the full budget more effectively.
"Season 7 is going to be fantastic. Before, we'd have one or two showstopping, major episodes per season. This season, probably at least half of them are whoppers. They're not going to disappoint."
Alongside this reveal, the series creators have also released a behind-the-scenes video showing the locations that the show uses.
Game of Thrones travels all over the world for shooting, with locations such as Spain and Iceland forming the basis of the show’s setting.
Viewers can catch up with all 6 seasons via Sky Box Sets and NOW TV right now.
