Amazon has ordered a new series from Get Out director Jordan Peele.
The series, named The Hunt, will revolve around a group of Nazi-hunters and is produced by Peele’s production company Monkeypaw.
Taking place in the ‘70s, The Hunt will see a group of Nazi-hunters tasked with eliminating a number of Nazi officials who have infiltrated American society.
Peele said that he was interested in the series after reading the initial script, written by David Well.
“When David Weil first shared The Hunt with me, I immediately knew that we had to be involved. It’s cathartic. It’s noir. It’s frighteningly relevant. It’s exactly what I want to see on television. I am thrilled to be working with Amazon in bringing this incredible vision to the world.”
This is one of the many projects Peele has signed up for since his win at this year’s Oscars for Best Original Screenplay.
The writer and director recently announced his new film project - a horror called Us - and is developing a new version of The Twilight Zone for CBS All Access.
The Hunt appears to be just the sort of project Peele excels in - a socially conscious and relevant genre thriller.
Get Out has made Peele a hot property in terms of film and TV thanks to its chilling and prescient story.
Whilst there hasn’t been a release date announced for The Hunt, production is underway, with a 2019 timeframe teased.
You can watch Get Out on NOW TV Sky Cinema right now.
