The director of Kong: Skull Island has expressed an interest in directing an episode of Black Mirror.
Jordan Vogt-Roberts reportedly wants to direct an episode, taking inspiration from fellow directors James Watkins (The Woman in Black), Joe Wright (Atonement) and Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane), who have all taken charge of episodes.
The brainchild of writer and TV journalist Charlie Brooker, Black Mirror is an anthology series that tells Twilight Zone-style scary stories about the potential dangers of technology.
The series recently moved to Netflix after being broadcast by Channel 4 for its first 2 series.
Talking to Digital Spy, the director said that Black Mirror was one of the few shows that could get him into directing TV.
"I would love to do a Black Mirror episode – that would be incredible. I don't have any interest in just doing episodic stuff unless it's something seminal, like Black Mirror or Stranger Things or something like that.
“I don't have any interest in just collecting a paycheck in that world. But I love what's happening in television and there's TV shows that you can build amazing worlds in now – that you can't with film."
The next series of Black Mirror has been confirmed by Charlie Brooker, with a number of stars linked to the show.
Actress Jodie Foster is due to direct an episode of the next series, after working on both Orange is the New Black and House of Cards in directorial roles.
Andrea Riseborough has also been linked to star in one episode, with Brooker teasing that the series would feature both a crime thriller style episode and one that is the funniest yet.
