Netflix has given the first look at new animated series Disenchantment.

Disenchantment is a new series from Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons and Futurama, which is set to air exclusively on Netflix.

The streaming platform has offered a first look at the series in a number of animation stills that suggest that Disenchantment will be drawn in very much the same style as Groening’s previous works.

The series follows Bean, a hard-drinking princess and her elf companion Elfo as they travel through the fictional world of Dreamland.

The series will initially run for 10 episodes and features a huge cast of voice talent, including Matt Berry, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, Abbi Jacobson, Nat Faxon and Futurama alums Billy West and John DiMaggio.

Alongside screenshots of the series, Netflix also revealed that Disenchantment will hit the platform on August 17th, putting it firmly in the services’ summer lineup.

Matt Groening is a veteran of the animated comedy world, with The Simpsons gearing up to air its record-breaking 30th season and Futurama still warmly remembered by fans.

Netflix has also had a number of successes on this front, with BoJack Horseman, Big Mouth and F is for Family proving to be big hits for the service.
