The Netflix sci-fi thriller will debut in February.

A new trailer for the upcoming sci-fi series Altered Carbon has been released.

The Netflix Original series is set to hit Netflix on February 2nd, with the trailer giving us a glimpse at what we can expect.

Altered Carbon is based on the novel by writer Richard K. Morgan and is set 300 years in the future, where humans are able to transfer their consciousness into other bodies in order to live forever.

Joel Kinnaman, known for the Robocop remake, stars as an interstellar warrior whose mind is released from prison and into a new body in order to solve a murder.

The show appears to feature a lot of Matrix-style fights and Blade Runner-influenced visuals, with this being one of Netflix's most expensive shows to date.

Miguel Sapochnik, who directed the Battle of the Bastards episode of Game of Thrones, has overseen the first episode, with the show being written by Shutter Island writer Laeta Kalogridis.

Altered Carbon is the latest in Netflix’s lineup of Original shows, with 2018 set to be its biggest year yet in terms of original content.

This includes TV series such as the Coen brothers’ Ballad of Buster Scruggs, a reboot of ‘60s sci-fi Lost in Space, Arrested Development season 5, Matt Groening’s Disenchantment and the full lineup of Marvel shows.

2018 also sees a number of films appear on the platform, after 2017 saw Netflix come into its own as a film studio.

You’ll be able to catch Altered Carbon on February 2nd, exclusively on Netflix.
