Sky has announced 2 new Sky Original dramas that will hit Sky Atlantic later this year.
Gone and The Tunnel: Vengeance have both been commissioned to appear on the channel, which has pledged to broadcast new drama every month in 2017.
Gone is created and written by Lennie James, of Walking Dead fame and stars Suranne Jones (Doctor Foster) and Stephen Graham (This is England, Taboo).
The show follows Nelson ‘Nelly’ Rowe, a hard drinker in a south east London estate who is accused of a crime he did not commit and must clear his name by revisiting his past.
Sky has also commissioned The Tunnel: Vengeance - the third installment in the popular crime thriller series starring Stephen Dillane of Game of Thrones fame and Clemence Poesy as English and French cops who must unite to solve a crime.
The new series sees detectives Karl and Elise face a terrifying duo of gangs who attempt to provoke the police into an all-out war.
The Tunnel: Vengeance is due to be the final series of the show, which has been popular with Sky Atlantic audiences.
Head of drama at Sky, Anne Mensah, said that both shows were a huge get for Sky Atlantic.
“I’m really excited about these two brilliant dramas coming exclusively to Sky Atlantic. The multi-talented Lennie James has mixed a gripping mystery with utterly unique characters. Gone exemplifies the originality we aim for on Sky Atlantic.
“In The Tunnel: Vengeance we return to our incomparable English and French detective duo, Karl and Elise, examining questions which politically couldn’t be more pertinent. This final instalment will be the perfect ending to the emotional journey we’ve been on across three fantastic series!”
You’ll be able to watch both Gone and The Tunnel: Vengeance exclusively on Sky Atlantic. To find out more, check out Digital TV.
