Sky Cinema announces plans for Oscar coverage

Sky Cinema viewers can watch the Awards in their entirety.

Sky Cinema has announced its broadcast plans for the coverage of the upcoming Academy Awards ceremony.

Sky Cinema Oscars, a new temporary channel, launched today and will be the exclusive home of the Oscars in the UK.

The channel will air the Oscars on Sunday 26th of February at 11:30pm, with the coverage presented by Alex Zane who will be joined by guests such as film critic Anna Smith and actor Sanjeev Bhaskar.

The special Red Carpet Live show will be followed up by the ceremony, which starts as 1:30am UK time. 

In the days leading up to the ceremony, Sky Cinema Oscars will also be showing over 100 Oscar-winning films from the Awards’ history.

These include The Departed, The Godfather, The Revenant and Forrest Gump.

Group Director of Sky Cinema, Ian Lewis, said that it would be the best Oscar’s coverage the UK had seen.

NOW TV Sky Cinema Pass customers will also be able to stream the awards, along with all the films that are featured on the channel.
