Sky Cinema to air Oscars exclusively

The biggest night in movies is heading to Sky Cinema.

Sky Cinema is set to offer a new channel dedicated to the Academy Awards.

Sky Cinema Oscars will run from February 26th to March 11th and will feature over 120 Oscar-winning films from the 90 years of the awards.

Alongside the new channel, Sky Cinema will show this year’s awards ceremony exclusively in the UK, with the coverage starting at 1.30 am on Monday 5th of March.

Alex Zane will return to host the coverage alongside a range of guests, with the ceremony repeated at 8am later that morning.

Among the films shown on Sky Cinema Oscars are modern classics and historical treasures, including No Country For Old Men, The Godfather and even Wings, the first ever Best Picture winner from 1927.

Group Director of Sky Cinema, Ian Lewis, said that Sky was excited to be hosting the Oscars in the UK once more.

“Sky Cinema Oscars is another great offering for our customers. We've got exclusive coverage as the home of the 90th Oscars in the UK, as well as a superb array of films from over the years on our dedicated channel, including some of cinema's greatest ever films."

As well as watching via Sky Cinema Oscars, customers will also be able to watch any film included on-demand.

NOW TV Sky Cinema Pass owners can also watch any film listed at any time as well as tune into the live channel.
