Sky launches Ultra HD for Sky Q

Sky has announced a new Ultra HD function for its Sky Q service, which will be available from August 13th.

 

Sky Q Silver customers will be able to watch live, On Demand and Sky Store programming with Ultra HD, offering unparalleled picture quality for a vide variety of shows. 

This include 124 live Premier League matches via Sky Sports, over 70 movies via Sky Cinema such as The Revenant and Spectre, as well as a host of dramas and documentaries airing live and as Sky Box Sets. 

Ultra HD features up to four times the definition of standard HD and is exclusive to Sky Q Silver customers, allowing for crystal clear picture quality that you won’t find anywhere else. 

Director of TV and Content Products at Sky, Luke Bradley-Jones, said that Ultra HD was a true innovation for TV viewing.

Sky Q is the next generation of home entertainment from Sky, giving subscribers a viewing experience that works on their terms.

Using Sky Q, viewers can watch their favourite programmes and movies on multiple TVs and tablets in their home as well as being able to pause a show in one room and continue it in another. 

Sky Q subscribers are also able to record multiple shows at once and take them with them to other devices to watch anywhere.

Further features are also set to be implemented in the near future, with voice navigation and a smartphone app planned.
