The supernatural crime-drama is getting the axe.

The supernatural crime series Sleepy Hollow has been cancelled after 4 seasons.

The show, which first aired on Fox in 2013, followed a reincarnated Ichabod Crane as he teams up with a detective to solve modern mysteries.

Actor Tom Mison starred in the role, which saw him become a household name among Fox viewers.

Now, the network has cancelled the series after an ongoing slump in ratings as well as fans claiming a slump in quality.

The final season of the show, which aired recently, only saw an average viewership of 3.3 million per episode.

Sleepy Hollow is not the only series which is being axed by Fox, with police drama Rosewood also being cancelled after 2 seasons.

There are also a number of Fox shows which, whilst they’ve not been cancelled, have yet to be ‘renewed’.

APB, The Exorcist, Scream Queens and 24: Legacy have all yet to be renewed for another season, despite all being popular shows when they aired.

You can watch the first 3 seasons of Sleepy Hollow on Amazon Prime right now.
