Stranger Things 2 has been teased with a new trailer and a release date announcement.
A new ad for the Netflix sci-fi series debuted during Super Bowl 51, giving fans a brief glimpse of what is coming in the second season.
The teaser sees the kids from the first season cycling about in Ghostbusters outfits as well as hints of the government conspiracy and inter-dimensional alien shenanigans we’ve come to expect from Stranger Things.
As well as this, a release date for the show has also been announced, which is slated to be October 31st.
This means that fans will have to wait over 8 months for the next installment of the show.
Stranger Things proved to be hugely popular with Netflix subscribers when it debuted, with its blend of retro 80s sci-fi and intriguing mystery making it great for classic Netflix-style binge-watching.
Despite the huge excitement for the next season, executive producer Shawn Levy said that the creators would be tight-lipped story details.
"I'm going to be very judicious when it comes to talking about Stranger Things, because I live in the land of spoiler paranoia these days.
"Look, as much as people are dying to know what happened, I think the reason Stranger Things has become the phenomenon it has is because no-one knew what was coming.No-one knew, frankly... much like The Force Awakens, I think there's this delicious torture in not knowing."
Stranger Things 2 will be released on October 31st on Netflix, with subscribers able to stream the first season right now.
