A new teaser trailer for season 3 of Stranger Things has been released.
This strange teaser doesn’t really give us much of a look at the upcoming season but instead offers a weird vibe in the form of an advert for the Hawkins, Indiana mall.
Stranger Things season 3 is in the middle of filming, with star Millie Bobby Brown confirming it via Instagram back in April.
This means that we probably won’t see a full trailer for at least a few months, with this teaser only hinting at what the season could be about.
One of the creators of the show, Matt Duffer, said in an interview with Glamour that season 3 will jump ahead to 1985 and that a new evil would be terrorising the town of Hawkins.
“Even if we wanted to hop into the action faster, we couldn’t. Our kids are ageing. We can only write and produce the show so fast. They’re going to be almost a year older by the time we start shooting season 3… [so] it forces you to do a time jump.”
The creators have previously claimed that they planned for the series to run for 4 seasons, making season 3 the penultimate.
Stranger Things is one of Netflix’s highest-rated shows, with season 2 attracting over 15 million viewers in the US alone during its first 3 days of airing.
The show has had to contend with its ever-ageing child cast and the commitments of its adult actors, with series star David Harbour recently cast as the new Hellboy for the planned 2019 movie.
You can watch the first 2 seasons of Stranger Things on Netflix now.
