Stranger Things will return on July 4th, Netflix has announced.
The streaming service revealed the title via Twitter, including a teaser poster with the tagline “One summer can change everything”.
The Stranger Things account also posted a video that acted as a faux broadcast of Hawkins Indiana’s New Year’s Eve, tying into the viral marketing the series is famous for.
Stranger Things is a sci-fi horror series that takes inspiration from Stephen King novels and ‘80s movies and follows a group of young friends as they clash with monsters from another dimension.
The previous season of Stranger Things aired in October, around Halloween time, so a summer premiere suggests the series is going in a different direction.
Creators of the series, the Duffer Brothers, have said that they planned the show to go on for four seasons, making the upcoming outing the penultimate.
Stranger Things is part of a big 2019 for Netflix, which includes new seasons of The Punisher and Jessica Jones alongside GLOW and Black Mirror.
You can catch up on the first two seasons of Stranger Things on Netflix now.
