Apple TV+'s Mythic Quest to release new quarantine episode

Mythic Quest: Quarantine will be available to stream from 22nd May.

Comedy series Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet is to receive a one-off quarantine special.

Titled Mythic Quest: Quarantine, the episode will follow its team of video game developers as they attempt to work from home during the coronavirus epidemic.

“Poppy (Charlotte Nicdao) and Ian (McElhenney) struggle with solitude, while Brad (Danny Pudi) and David (David Hornsby) start a charitable competition,” reads the official synopsis.

Meanwhile “assistant Jo (Jessie Ennis) tries to explain video-conferencing to CW (F. Murray Abraham) with mixed results.”

The episode was written by co-creators Rob McElhenney and Megan Ganz along with one of the show’s stars David Hornsby.

All of the footage was shot and edited remotely on the cast’s iPhones.

“Lots of workplaces are figuring out this whole working-from-home thing, and the gaming industry is no different. Virtual meetings are a new and special kind of hell, so I think people will relate,” said one of the show’s creators Rob McElhenney.

“Yes we’ve all had low points, but there have also been incredible moments of triumph and we wanted to celebrate that."

Mythic Quest: Quarantine is the latest in a line of shows to release a new special.

The cast of Parks and Recreation reunited for a new episode via video call last month managing to raise $2.8 million for coronavirus relief.

Others like Community, Spongebob Squarepants and Netflix’s Grace and Frankie will see their casts join together remotely to perform table reads.

You can stream Mythic Quest: Quarantine from 22nd May on AppleTV+.
