Ash vs Evil Dead future still uncertain

Bruce Campbell hints at the future of the franchise.

The future of Ash vs Evil Dead is in question as season 4 is yet to be commissioned.

Star of the show and the original movies Bruce Campbell said in an interview that he doesn't know whether the series will continue past season 3, which is currently airing.

The show is produced by STARZ, which has not yet given confirmation of a 4th season.

“We won't know till the middle of March. We're in the horrible television limbo right now.”

Despite the uncertainty of whether the show will continue, Campbell said that the cancellation of the show would potentially open doors for a new Evil Dead film.

“We're going to see what the TV gods have in store for us. We're ready either way. If they take us off the air, we can think about another movie. And if they don't, we can just keep plugging away.”

Ash vs Evil Dead acts as a sequel to the original Evil Dead films, which saw Ash take on the Deadites that came from a cursed book.

A remake was released in 2013, but it had little to do with the original premise other than the name.

Virgin Media TV customers can watch Ash vs Evil Dead right now via on-demand.
