Atlanta renewed for season 4 by FX
It was also announced that series 3 and 4 will be shot back-to-back.
FX has renewed Donald Glover’s Emmy award-winning Atlanta for season 4.
Production will simultaneously begin on series 3 and 4 this Spring both of which will consist of eight half-an-hour episodes.
A third outing was originally ordered in June 2018, less than a month after series 2 ended, but Glover’s busy schedule has meant it’s been delayed.
Details surrounding the upcoming series are quite scarce and given the show’s brilliantly surreal nature, it’s difficult to predict where it’ll go.
Glover created and stars in the series which revolves around his broke University dropout Earn trying to successfully manage his rapper cousin Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry).
He also serves as an executive producer alongside brother Stephen Glover, Paul Simms, Dianne McGunigle and Hiro Murai.
“What more can be said about Atlanta than the critical acclaim and accolades that Donald, Paul, Dianne, Stephen and Hiro have earned for two exceptional seasons of what is clearly one of the best shows on television,” said Eric Schrier, president of FX Entertainment.
“This group of collaborators and cast have created one of the most original, innovative stories of this generation and we are proud to be their partners.”
A release date for Atlanta season 3 is not yet known.
