BBC announces Glastonbury coverage plans

Music fans can see over 120 acts across the weekend.

The BBC has detailed its coverage plans for the upcoming Glastonbury Festival.

Like in previous years, the broadcaster has the rights to cover the event across its TV, radio, digital and online platforms.

This year, the BBC is set to broadcast over 30 hours of coverage from the festival, with the TV coverage coming from both BBC Two and BBC Four.

The TV coverage will include all 3 of the major headliners - Radiohead on Friday, Foo Fighters on Saturday and Ed Sheeran on Sunday.

BBC Two will also show a number of afternoon performances, including the Bee Gees' Barry Gibb. BBC Four will also be showing acts across the whole weekend.

BBC Radio will also play an important part in the coverage, with Radio 1 and 2 shows broadcast from the festival and Ed Sheeran's full set appearing on Radio 1.

BBC Radio 6Music will also feature a large amount of coverage, with Lauren Laverne and Steve Lamacq hosting shows from the festival and playing highlights all weekend.

The BBC will also be streaming sets from 120 acts across the various stages, with viewers able to tune in via the Red Button or online using the BBC's specialised Glastonbury site.

Viewers will be able to catch up on acts they've missed using BBC iPlayer, which will feature all of the festival's digital content.

As well as the 3 major headliners, Glastonbury this year will also feature performances from Katy Perry, Biffy Clyro, The XX, Alt-J and Stormzy.

Glastonbury Festival will take place between June 21st and 25th.
