BBC confirms release date for This Country season 3
The BAFTA-award winning comedy will return on 17th February 2020.
The BBC has revealed a release date for the upcoming third and final season of mockumentary series This Country.
BBC Three’s official Twitter account confirmed that six new episodes will arrive on BBC iPlayer on 17th February 2020.
Written by and starring siblings Daisy May and Charlie Cooper, the show follows the day-to-day lives of cousins Kerry and Kurtan who live in a small village in the Cotswolds.
It debuted in 2017 to widespread critical acclaim with a similarity reviewed second season and a one-off special both following in 2018.
The same year, This Country scored the BAFTA for Best Scripted Comedy beating out Channel 4’s hit Catastrophe.
The first episode of this season will also serve as a tribute to Micheal Sleggs who played Kerry’s and Kurtan’s friend Sluggs and passed away from heart complications last July.
“Once in a while a show lands fully formed and audiences take it to their hearts immediately. said Shane Allen, Controller of Comedy Commissioning at BBC Three.
“Daisy and Charlie’s characters and world have struck a chord with viewers of all ages as their sharp writing delivers a winning mix of heartfelt moments and punchy belly laughs, all performed to comic perfection.”
