Breeders renewed for a third season by Sky
These next lot of episodes will hit our screens sometime next year.
Sky has renewed its acclaimed original comedy series Breeders for a third season.
It will continue to follow the relationship of frazzled couple Paul (Martin Freeman) and Ally (Back to Life’s Daisy Haggard) as they navigate the challenges of parenting and caring for their elderly parents.
The second season jumped forward in time, aging their children Luke (Alex Eastwood) and Ava (Eva Prenelle) up by 6 years to 13 and 10 respectively. It’s not yet known if the third season will continue this trend.
Co-creator Simon Blackwell will once again serve as showrunner and is expected to share writing duties with regulars like Jamie Brittain, Fay Rusling, Oriane Messina and Barunka O'Shaughnessy.
“What a thrill to see the return of Breeders. Martin Freeman, Simon Blackwell and Chris Addison’s brilliant season 2 definitely smells like teen spirit,” said Jon Mountague, the Director of Comedy at Sky Studios.
“Martin and Daisy Haggard are rapidly becoming the UK’s most relatable and funniest parents & they’ve certainly left our audience wanting more. So, it’s with great joy to be able to spread the news of a third series before the birth of the second!”
This renewal announcement comes just a day after the premiere of its second season on Sky One, which can also now be viewed in its entirety on demand.
These 10 episodes see Paul and Ally dealing with new and unexpected complications in their already chaotic lives as Luke begins to show signs of anxiety disorder and Ava exerts her growing independence.
