Carnival Row renewed for season 2
The first series of the fantasy drama will premiere on 30th August.
Amazon's has renewed its fantasy drama Carnival Row for a second season.
The announcement, made during the streaming giant’s presentation at this year’s TCA Summer Press Tour, comes a month before the first series is set to premiere.
Carnival Row is set in a dark, Victorian-style world where a variety of mythical creatures have been forced to migrate to the titular city after humans invaded their homelands.
Despite an increasingly intolerant society, human detective Rycroft (Orlando Bloom) falls for a fairy (Cara Delevinge) whilst investigating an ongoing series of brutal murders.
The series was adapted from a spec film script written by Travis Beachum back in 2002 which has been floating around in Hollywood since 2005.
Game of Thrones’s Indira Varma, Chernobyl's Jared Harris, Karla Crome, David Gyasi and Tamzin Merchant will also star.
Co-creator of superhero series Arrow Marc Guggenheim will serve as showrunner and executive producer alongside Beachum, Bloom and Rene Echevarria.
You can stream the entire first season of Carnival Row on Amazon Prime from 30th August.
