Cast announced for Guillermo del Toro and Netflix's Pinocchio
Ewan McGregor, Tilda Swinton, and Christoph Waltz are all set to lend their vocal talents to the stop-motion project.

Netflix has announced the full voice cast for Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming stop-motion musical version of Pinocchio.
Newcomer Gregory Mann will star as the puppet who is determined to become a real boy with Ewan McGregor as his friendly conscience Jiminy Cricket and Game of Thrones’s David Bradley as his creator Gepeto.
Also set to feature are Tilda Swinton, Cate Blanchett, Christoph Waltz, Stranger Things’s Finn Wolfhard, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Watchmen’s Tim Blake Nelson and Burn Gorman.
Del Torro worked with Patrick McHale to write the script and will co-direct with Fantastic Mr Fox’s Mark Gustafson.
The film will be a musical set during Mussolini’s Italy and has been described as “a story of love and disobedience as Pinocchio struggles to live up to his father’s expectations.”
Pinocchio is a passion project for the Academy-Award winning director who has previously spoken about his love for the character.
“I’ve wanted to make this movie for as long as I can remember,” he said.
“No art form has influenced my life and my work more than animation and no single character in history has had as deep of a personal connection to me as Pinocchio.”
Production on the film was able to continue on during COVID-19 and it's expected to hit Netflix sometime next year.
Disney are also working on a separate live-action remake of Pinocchio directed by Robert Zemeckis with Tom Hanks reportedly in talks to star as Gepeto.
