Catastrophe's Rob Delany joins Man Who Fell to Earth series
He'll star alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor, Naomie Harris and Jimmi Simpson.
Actor and comedian Rob Delany is the latest addition to The Man Who Fell to Earth TV series.
The show is based on the 1976 film of the same name which starred the late David Bowie as an humanoid alien who travels to earth in search of a way to send water back to his drought-stricken home planet.
Chiwetel Ejiofor will take the lead as a new alien character who “arrives at a turning point in human evolution and must confront his own past to determine our future.”
Delany is set to play Hatch Flood, a member of a prominent tech family who loses everything due to his obsession with a past alien visitor (presumably a nod to Bowie’s Thomas Newton).
They will be joined by Naomie Harris as the brilliant scientist Justin Falls and Westworld's Jimmi Simpson as CIA agent Spencer Clay who becomes fixated on discovering the true identity of Ejiofor’s character.
The Man Who Fell to Earth will be written by Star Trek: Discovery’s Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet who will also serve as co-showrunners alongside John Hlavin.
The show will premiere on Showtime in the US but it's not yet clear where it will be broadcast here in the UK.
A release date for The Man Who Fell to Earth is currently unknown.
