Catherine Zeta-Jones joins Prodigal Son for season 2
She'll play Dr Vivian Capshaw who's tasked with putting imprisoned serial killer Martin Whitly (Michael Sheen) to work.
Academy-Award winner Catherine Zeta-Jones will star in the second season of Fox’s crime-drama Prodigal Son.
The show follows NYPD consultant Malcolm Bright (Tom Payne) who is forced to seek the advice of his father Dr Martin Whitly (Michael Sheen) aka prolific serial killer The Surgeon on different criminal cases.
Zeta-Jones will play Vivian Capshaw, a resident medical doctor in the infirmary of the psychiatric hospital where Whitly is being held.
According to Variety, she “revels in tasking the charismatic psychopath with tedious, debasing tasks” when he’s assigned to work alongside her.
“But as Martin proves his genius to Capshaw, the doctor begins to see his twisted expertise as an asset (which may not necessarily be a good thing).”
Lou Diamond Phillips, Aurora Perrineau, Frank Hart, Keiko Agena, Halston Sage and Bellamy Young are also all set to return.
This new season will pick up after that shocking finale with Bright's life once again in disarray after the violent actions of his sister Ainsley (Sage)
A release date for the second season of Prodigal Son in the UK has not yet been confirmed but the first is available to stream in its entirety on NOW TV.
