Channel 4 could have found Mary Berry replacement
Bake Off may have its Mary Berry replacement.
Channel 4 has reportedly found a Mary Berry replacement for its version of The Great British Bake Off.
Rumours suggest that the role may fall to Prue Leith, a South African restaurateur, writer and food campaigner who has worked on food TV for a number of years.
Leith has worked as a TV judge on the BBC's Great British Menu since 2006 and has has culinary influences in the UK for over four decades.
She set up Leith's School of Food and Wine in 1974 and was also chair of the School Food Trust from 2006 to 2010.
Whilst Channel 4 has not yet confirmed or denied whether Leith will replace Berry on the show, she is now the most likely candidate.
The Great British Bake Off saw its final series for the BBC air last year, after the production company that makes it struck a deal with Channel 4.
The move saw the majority of the major presenters leave, with Mary Berry joining hosts Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc in not moving to Channel 4.
The new series is expected to air later this year, with Channel 4 being tight-lipped on how the show will change beyond series regular Paul Hollywood.
Mary Berry has previously claimed that she will be tuning into the Channel 4 version of the show despite turning it down.
"I'll see what they're up to. I want to see Paul because we're still great friends."
