Damon Lindelof announces new TV series Mrs Davis

This will be first project following 2019's fantastic superhero drama Watchmen.

Award-winning screenwriter Damon Lindelof has announced his next TV project.

This new 10-episode series will be titled Mrs Davis and it’s been described as “an exploration of faith versus technology - an epic battle of biblical and binary proportions.”

While specific plot details are being kept tightly under wraps, we do know that it will have “a dark satirical edge” and be set in a world where we rely on algorithms to make the vast majority of decisions for us.

“Containing secrets within secrets, each season will center on a particular mystery or dilemma that will be resolved by the end of the cycle,” reads its current synopsis.

Lindelof will team up with Young Sheldon’s Tara Hernandez to co-write the script and serve as executive producers.

Mrs Davis has been given a straight-to-series order by US-only streaming service Peacock after being shopped around to different platforms and networks including HBO.

NBC has stated that the service will be available in the UK at some point in the future but there’s also a chance that another channel or streaming service here could acquire it.

“I am so excited to be working with Damon and Tara on what I believe will be the next must-binge series for Peacock,” said Susan Rovner, the chairman of entertainment content at NBCUniversal.

“Damon’s work is synonymous with content and storytelling that doesn’t just break through the clutter, but storms onto the scene and demands that you watch or risk being left out.”

“Tara’s experience on The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon brings Mrs. Davis a sense of humor and unexpected storytelling I feel confident will engage viewers for seasons to come.”
