Dave Chappelle to host 3 Netflix stand-up specials
Comedian Dave Chappelle has announced that he will provide Netflix with 3 new stand-up specials next year.
Chappelle will use 2 shows taped from a recent tour in both Austin City Limits and The Hollywood Palladium respectively, with the third being filmed specially.
The third will be directed by Stan Lathan, who has previously worked with Chappelle on other specials.
The Netflix shows will mark the first stand-up specials from Chappelle in over a decade, with the last one, Dave Chappelle: For What It's Worth, being broadcast in 2004.
The comedian has garnered a lot of attention recently with his hosting of US sketch show Saturday Night Live, where his 10-minute monologue proved he was still one of comedy's biggest talents.
Before his appearance, it was speculated that he would not show up to host, with musical guests of the show A Tribe Called Quest even stating that they were unsure he'd be there.
Netflix has a history of commissioning comedy specials, with fellow comedy legend Chris Rock recently announcing that he would appear on the platform as well.
Chappelle's specials are due to be released in 2017, with the third yet to be filmed.
