David Lynch reportedly developing a new TV series for Netflix
He hasn't directed a feature film since Inland Empire in 2006.

David Lynch is reportedly in the process of creating a new TV series for Netflix.
This news comes from the fan site Welcome to Twin Peaks and has yet to be officially confirmed by the streaming giant.
According to them, the show will be called Wisteria and be written by Lynch. He and Sabrina S. Sutherland, who previously served as an executive producer on Twin Peaks: The Return, will share directing duties.
Filming for Wisteria is apparently set to commence in May 2021 but a release date isn’t known. It’s potential plot is shrouded in mystery too but anything from Lynch is bound to be wonderfully weird and complex.
Co-creator of Twin Peaks Mark Frost has denied that he’s involved in the series when asked by a fan on Twitter. Others have highlighted that he did do the same when asked about Twin Peaks: The Return so his answer could be a misdirect.
Not involved at all. https://t.co/jVBXPlJSRJ

Wisteria won’t be Lynch’s first Netflix project. The director released a short film called What Did Jack Do? in 2017 which saw him play a detective interviewing a monkey about a murder.
All three seasons of Twin Peaks are available to stream on NOW TV.
