David Tennant to return to Jessica Jones season 2
Kilgrave will be back, but in what form?
David Tennant will return to Marvel series Jessica Jones, it has been confirmed.
The actor (who has previously appeared in Doctor Who and Broadchurch) has been confirmed to once again star as creepy villain Kilgrave after his critically acclaimed turn in the first season.
Entertainment Weekly officially revealed that Tennant would be returning to the show via a set photo taken on location in New York, which shows Tennant with lead Krysten Ritter.
The first season of Jessica Jones saw the super-powered private eye go after Kilgrave (known as The Purple Man in the comics), a serial rapist and killer who can convince anyone to do anything by just talking to them.
The character was killed off in the final episode, so it's not yet known whether this will be a full return or if he'll just feature in flashbacks.
Reports have claimed that Marvel is keeping all the details surrounding the return under wraps for now, so it's unlikely we'll find out until the show returns next year.
Jessica Jones is set to return alongside fellow B-tier superheroes Daredevil, Iron Fist and Luke Cage in the upcoming Defenders series, which is due to air on Netflix on August 18th.
Jessica Jones is one of a number of Netflix and Marvel shows that are due to return in 2018, with Luke Cage and Iron Fist all expected to get new episodes.
Netflix has already had a packed 2017, with some of its biggest shows such as Orange is the New Black and House of Cards returning to the platform, with Stranger Things due back in October.
The streaming service has also enjoyed success with some of its new shows, with wrestling black-comedy GLOW and crime thriller Ozark all enjoying acclaim.
You can watch the first season of Jessica Jones and all of Marvel's original series on Netflix right now.
