Deadwood movie to release in May

Return to Deadwood in late May.

The Deadwood movie is set to release at the end of May this year, HBO has announced.

The long-anticipated sequel to the cancelled Western series will air on HBO on May 31st, and will presumably hit Sky Atlantic soon after.

The air date was announced alongside a proper teaser trailer, showing fans what they can expect from the film, which is expected to wrap up the Deadwood saga.

Deadwood was originally cancelled in 2006 after 3 seasons, despite being critically acclaimed.

The series stars Ian McShane, Timothy Olyphant and Molly Parker and revolves around a town struggling to get through America’s western expansion and the subsequent goldrush.

It is known as one of HBO’s best properties, with a cult fan-base that has been eagerly waiting for a follow-up to the original series.
