Ewan McGregor reportedly in talks for Obi-Wan Kenobi series
The project would be a Disney+ exclusive.
A Star Wars TV series revolving around Obi-Wan Kenobi is reportedly heading to Disney+.
According to US entertainment site Deadline, Ewan McGregor is currently in talks with the streaming service about reprising his role.
The Trainspotting star played the Jedi Master across all three prequel films taking over from original actor Alec Guiness.
There are currently no details on what the as-of-yet unnamed series would be about or who else will be involved.
Rumours of a Obi-Wan Kenobi film have been circulating online for years, with reports at one point suggesting that Billy Elliot’s Stephen Daldry was to step into the director's chair.
Plans for any kind of stand-alone film seem to have been officially derailed by the disappointing box office performance of last year’s Solo prequel however.
If this project does come to fruition, it’ll be the third Star Wars series headed to Disney+.
The Mandalorian will star Game of Thrones’s Pedro Pascal as a lone gunfighter operating in the far reaches of the galaxy while the still unnamed Cassian Andor series will see Diego Luna reprise his Rogue One role as the rebel spy.
A UK launch date for Disney+ is still unknown.
