Fargo season 4 to air in Spring 2021
Like so many other productions, its release date was delayed due to COVID-19.
Channel 4 has confirmed the air date for the long-awaited fourth season of Fargo.
The 11 episode crime anthology, which was created by Noah Hawley, will premiere in Spring 2021. The arrival of this fourth outing comes nearly four years after Fargo’s third season was released in April 2017.
The lengthy delay between seasons can be partly attributed to COVID-19 which forced the show’s production to shut down with three weeks of filming left to go last March.
Hawley’s attentions were also focused on his directorial debut Lucy in the Sky loosely based on the bizarre true story of astronaut Lisa Nowak (Natalie Portman) who was charged with the attempted kidnapping of her ex-boyfriend’s new partner.
Fargo season 4 is set in the 1950s and stars Chris Rock and Jason Schwarzman as the rival heads of two powerful crime syndicates, Cannon Ltd and the Fadda Family, vying for control of Kansas City.
As always, it boasts a large ensemble cast which also features Jessie Buckley, Ben Whishaw, Salvatore Esposito, Jack Huston, E'myri Crutchfield, Andrew Bird, Anji Wihte, Jeremie Harris and Timothy Olyphant.
"We are thrilled to bring back the biggest and most gripping Fargo yet, with some absolutely unmissable performances," said Nick Lee, Channel 4's head of Acquisitions & International.
"Fargo explores a breadth of engaging and complex storylines and it's a fantastic opportunity to bring this unique cinematic show to our audiences once again."
You can stream the first three seasons of Fargo on Netflix now.
