Fight of the Conchords’ Jemaine Clement joins Legion series
Jemaine Clement, star of comedy series Flight of the Conchords, has joined the cast of the forthcoming Legion series.
Legion is a new series that acts as a spin-off to the X-Men movies, and is due to air on FX in early 2017.
Legion is being overseen by Fargo's Noah Hawley and stars Dan Stevens as a mutant who slowly discovers his powers after thinking he was insane.
Clement is reportedly due to star in a multi-episode role, although who he'll be playing is not yet known.
He is best-known for his comedic roles in the HBO comedy series Flight of the Conchords and mockumentary vampire film What We Do in the Shadows.
Noah Hawley revealed the casting via Instagram, right around the time that the Legion panel at the New York Comic-Con was happening.
At the con, fans were also treated to the first half of the pilot episode of the show, with early reactions dubbing it as “the Breaking Bad of superhero stories”.
Bryan Singer, director of the X-Men movies, has also confirmed that the show will tie-into the films, allowing the story to continue through multiple platforms.
