First teaser trailer for American Horror Story: 1984

The slasher themed-series will be set at Camp Redwood.

FX has dropped the first teaser for the upcoming ninth season of American Horror Story.

The short clip, which doesn’t feature any of the confirmed cast, plays into the classic 80s slasher theme showing a Jason Vorhees-like masked killer terrorizing a group of teenagers partying at Camp Redwood.

While there’s no official plot details available, a short cast announcement video released earlier this month revealed that previous stars Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Cody Fern, John Carroll Lynch and Leslie Grossman are all set to return.

They’ll be joined by newcomers Matthew Morrison, Pose’s Angelica Ross, DeRon Horton and olympian Gus Kenworthy.

Variety previously confirmed to the disappointment of fans that series mainstay Sarah Paulson won’t be appearing in a major role this time around due to some other filming commitments.

Evan Peters, who’s also had a major role in every season, stated during an interview at this year’s Wondercon that he’ll be sitting this one out completely.

American Horror Story: 1984 will premiere here in the UK on FX on 18th September just a day after its aired in the US.

“I will tell you nothing, except that I think it’s awesome,” executive producer Tim Minear told TheWrap in May. “I think it’s gonna be really scary but a lot of fun, like it always is. And that if you have a taste for ’80s horror, you’re in for a treat.”

You can stream the first seven seasons of American Horror Story on Netflix now.
