First trailer for Vikings season 6
The clip promises another big battle for the throne of Kattegat.
The History Channel has released its first highly-anticipated trailer for the upcoming sixth and final season of Vikings.
The nearly 3 minute long clip mostly teases what promises to be another epic battle between King Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) and his half-brother Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen).
Following his defeat at the end of last season, it’s revealed that Ivar fled to a snowy settlement in Russia to ally with the equally ruthless Oleg the Prophet (Danila Kozlovsky) who plans on invading Kattegat with his own fleet.
There’s plenty of action-packed shots of long frozen battlefields with vicious sword-fighting, archers, long-boat clashes and lots of blood-spattered faces.
Also glimpsed joining in the fray is head Shield Maiden Lagertha (Kathryn Winnick) who’s attempts to live a quiet life on a farm clearly don’t go to plan.
Creator and showrunner Micheal Hirst is yet to confirm whether Bjorn’s uncle Rollo (Clive Standen), who betrayed his people to the French nobility back in season 4, will appear.
This season will once again consist of 20 episodes, with the first set of ten to air weekly from 5th December on Amazon Prime and the second to premiere sometime in mid-2020.
You can stream all five seasons of Vikings on Amazon now.
