Full cast list unveiled for Good Omens season 2
It'll once again consist of six episodes all written by co-creator Neil Gaiman.
Amazon’s Good Omens has unveiled the full cast list for its upcoming second season.
Michael Sheen and David Tennant will of course return as the angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley respectively who are again set to team up to save the world.
It’s also been confirmed that Derek Jacobi and Mad Men’s Jon Hamm will reprise their roles as God’s spokesperson Metatron and the angel Gabriel.
Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton, Reece Shearsmith, Niamh Walsh, Miranda Richardson and Maggie Service will be back too, alongside Nina Sosanya, Doon Mackichan, Gloria Obianyo, Liz Carr, Quelin Sepulveda and Shelley Conn.
Co-creator and writer Neil Gaiman previously stated that some of these cast members will reprise their roles from season 1 and others will take on entirely new ones. It’s not yet clear who will be doing what.
Benedict Cumberbatch and Frances McDormand officially won’t be returning as the voices of God and Satan, but again it’s not known if they’ll be replaced.
Finally, set to join the cast for season 2 are newcomers Siân Phillips, Tim Downie, Pete Firman, Andi Osho and Alex Norton
Good Omens was originally conceived as a miniseries adaptation of the novel of the same name by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, but Amazon Prime announced in June 2021 that they’d renewed it for a second season.
According to the official plot synopsis it “will explore storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale, a fussy angel and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley."
“Having been on Earth since The Beginning and with the Apocalypse thwarted, Aziraphale and Crowley are getting back to easy living amongst mortals in London’s Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery.”
