Game of Thrones episode lengths revealed

The fantasy epic will return to Sky Atlantic next month.

The running times for the opening episodes of Game of Thrones season 8 have been revealed.

HBO has said that episodes 1 and 2 of the season will be 54 and 58 minutes long respectively.

This ties into the recent rumours, which claimed that the openers would be up to an hour long each.

The reports in January also claimed that the remaining four episodes would come in at 80 minutes each, though this is not yet confirmed.

From these confirmations, it appears that Game of Thrones will essentially pack in a film-length episode every week for its final season.

Game of Thrones remains the most popular series on TV, with HBO planning a number of spin-offs after the main series has ended.

The epic fantasy series has been a smash-hit for the network, with fans all over the world eagerly anticipating the final season.

Season 8 will air in the UK on April 14th, exclusively on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV Entertainment.

New viewers can catch up on the previous 7 seasons via Sky Box Sets and NOW TV, though you don’t have long to watch them.
