George Clooney casts Ben Affleck in new Amazon film
Clooney's next project is based on J.R Moehringer's bestselling memoir The Tender Bar.

Ben Affleck is to star in George Clooney’s The Tender Bar at Amazon.
The film will be an adaptation of J. R. Moehringer’s memoir which recounts his growing up in Long Island, New York and ongoing search for a father figure in the patrons of a local bar.
The project was written by William Monahan, whose previous credits include Martin Scorsese's The Departed and historical epic Kingdom of Heaven.
It’s not clear who else will be cast in the film or if Clooney himself will appear.
Originally, The Tender Bar was intended to be a Sony release with Hidden Figures’ Ted Melfi directing. When Melfi dropped out, Sony put the project into turnaround and it was subsequently snapped up by Amazon.
The two actors previously collaborated on acclaimed thriller Argo, with Affleck directing and playing the lead role while Clooney served as a producer, which went on to win three Academy-Awards.
Clooney’s next film, which he both directs and stars in, a sci-fi drama called Midnight Sky will premiere on Netflix on 11th December.
A release date for The Tender Bar is currently unknown.
