Hawkeye series confirmed for Disney+
This will be the fifth original Marvel series to feature on the streaming platform.
A TV series revolving around Jeremy Renner’s master archer Hawkeye is coming to Disney+, Marvel has announced.
The actor has confirmed he’s to star in the series that’ll take place after the events of Avengers: Endgame, which recently overtook James Cameron’s Avatar to become the highest-grossing film of all time.
Kate Bishop, a character who took up the Hawkeye mantle in the comics after he’s presumed dead, will appear alongside him. An actress has yet to be cast for Bishop.
The series will revolve around Renner’s character training her up to become a hero while also exploring his time as Ronin, the dark, vengeful persona he adopted in Endgame after losing his family to Thanos's (Josh Brolin) world-altering snap.
Hawkeye will premiere on Disney+ sometime in the Autumn of 2021.
It’ll sit alongside Falcon and Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki and What If…? as a collection of TV series developed especially for the streaming service designed to expand on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
There’s not currently a UK launch date for Disney+ which will officially launch in the US on November 12th.
