HBO debuts first trailer for I Know This Much is True
Mark Ruffalo plays twin brothers in this emotional limited series.
HBO has released the first trailer for its upcoming limited series I Know This Much is True.
Based on Wally Lamb’s 1998 novel of the same name, it stars Mark Ruffalo as identical twins Dominick and Thomas Birdsey.
HBO has described it as “a story of betrayal, sacrifice and forgiveness” which follows the family’s attempts to deal with the former’s paranoid schizophrenia.
It’ll see the brother’s at different times in their lives, beginning with them in middle-age and flashing back to their troubled childhood.
Academy Award winner Melissa Leo, Rosie O’Donnell, Juliette Lewis, Kathryn Hahn and Imogen Poots round out the cast.
Leo plays their mother who appears to be seriously ill in the trailer. Both Hahn and Poots play women whose lives are tangled up with Dominick as his ex-wife and new girlfriend respectively.
Comedian O’Donnell continues her dramatic roles as a social worker and Lewis plays a grad-student who’s doing some work for Dominick.
All six episodes of I Know This Much Is True were written and directed by Derek Cianfrance, who previously helmed the devastating drama Blue Valentine and acclaimed neo-noir The Place Beyond The Pines.
I Know This Much Is True will premiere sometime in June 2020 on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.
