John Cusack to star in Amazon Utopia remake
Cusack is back for a crack at TV.
Actor John Cusack is set to star in the US version of Utopia.
The series is a US remake of the 2013 British show of the same name, which was cancelled after 2 series.
Utopia is being produced by Amazon for its Prime Video platform, with 9 initial episodes confirmed for season 1.
The Grosse Pointe Blank and Con Air star will feature in the series as Dr. Kevin Christie, a biotech scientist.
Utopia revolves around a group of people who meet online after they come into possession of a mythical graphic novel and are pursued by a shady government organisation.
The new version has been written by Gillian Flynn, author and screenwriter of Gone Girl. She will act as the showrunner, with Jessica Rhoades (who was involved with Sharp Objects) producing.
Cusack will join names like Sasha Lane, Rainn Wilson and Christopher Denham in the series.
You’ll be able to watch Utopia on Amazon Prime Video when it drops later this year.
